ABOUT THIS GAME

The Evil Geomancer has taken over the mountain, conjuring fiends from across the land to protect it. You have been chosen by the sacred Evertree to bravely delve inside.

You will help guide your Fox by attacking enemies, dodging their attacks, and gathering loot, all with just your mouse cursor (or keyboard if you prefer!).

As you progress, you will grow stronger. Acquiring new equipment, upgrading them, investing into a skill tree, and choosing permanent major upgrades in the form of Blessings.

  • Simple, but engaging gameplay. Click to move your Fox, or change a Setting to make it so your Fox moves to your cursor position automatically.
  • Fighting is done by proximity. The Fox gets near an enemy, they swing their weapon if they can. Combat involves deftly moving in and out of enemy range while dodging obstacles and other attacks.
  • Upgrade your equipment to become stronger. Choose from 1 of 6 different weapons, unlocked gradually as you play through the game.
  • Skill tree with meaningful progression and impactful choices.
  • Choose a powerful Blessing upon level up, a permanent bonus that grants you great strength.

What's in the game currently:

  • 4 weapon types.
  • 2 floors and 3 difficulties to conquer.
  • 19 different Blessings to be offered.
  • Localization for 9 languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian.

Nice game, I enjoyed it!

Is there a reason you allow access to Floor 3 - Normal in the demo but it is completely empty?  Doesn't seem to make much sense.  Also why have challenges for this floor in the Demo if you can't complete any of them?

Also, at one point in the game, it just went to a completely black screen (Windows 11, Firefox 150.0.2) with just the music playing.  Controls didn't seem to do anything.  Had to reload the site and then load from my savegame to continue.

Edit:

Was just playing Floor 2-3 and the monsters were on top of me and the game froze.  Only the music continued playhing.  The mouse pointer was not visible while over the game screen and I could not click on anything.  Had to reload the page and restore by savegame.

Edit 2:

I converted essence to coins in the Currency Exchange.  It showed that my total coins went from 50 to 75 at the top, however when I went to the Shop, it still showed that I only had 50 coins, although it let me buy things that cost more than 50 coins and after I bought something the total was updated to reflect the correct value.

Very fun but I wish I could disable the totem for auto mode because of how it focuses on it over pretty much everything else. Like you could just make selecting it again in the shop menu unequip it or something.

It's very fun, I love the gameplay and I‘ll definitely play the full game when it comes out. One thing I really wish you could get, is at least four more souls, so you can get all the available upgrades in the demo, just a thought. Really overall a 10/10 :) 👍

OMG ITS SPAMTON G SPAMTON

Wishlisted!

Good game. I have to say that I used the mouse controls for many runs because the game suggested that was the intended way to play; but once I tried the keyboard controls, it was immediately obvious that that was much better. Wish I had been doing that the whole time.

Keyboard/Gamepad compatibility was added recently to the game compared to its overall development. Thank you for providing this feedback. I may need to make these options more obvious and also fix how it says it's intended to be played with a mouse, when both are now an option.

really fun !

Will the final release of this game be available here on Itch and GOG?

Also, the audio in this game really reminds me of Invisigun.  Same composer?

The composer I'm using for this game is hi5music, not sure if they were involved with Invisigun.

Thanks for the info.

The final release will be available on itch for sure. As for gog, I'd like to try for it, but that's not guaranteed.

Excellent!  Also glad to hear it.

Great demo! I'm looking forward to the full game.

Only a single tiny complaint: when you fall down to a new floor, the totem sometimes spawns right below you, so it gets activated before you can move. It's not too important but it sucks when you waste a golden one. Something as simple as delaying the totem spawn 1 second would fix that.

I had one crash when claiming the reward of Floor 2 guardian normal (could be a browser thing though). I can also confirm the game lags when monsters explode on Firefox.

And as a final bit of feedback, I would like for the skill tree to have a bit more of depth. Right now it's just a straight line which barely feels like you are making a choice. Maybe merge all the skills into one large tree with their paths crossing every now and then, so you can jump from one to another and skip the skills you don't care about.

Anyway, good job :)

Hey, thanks for the feedback. I've addressed both the totem and what was likely the culprit for the crash issue. I also appreciate your input on the skill tree, though not sure what I will be doing in that regard just yet.

The choices on a branching skill tree are often (if not always) poor choices. If you make the wrong choice, you lose every run very quickly, and then you have to accumulate gold to fix it. Personally, the straight path is just fine.

I am getting lags. I assume it happens with the 15% of monster exploding on spawn. On Firefox 150.0.1 (latest)

Thanks for letting me know! Should be fixed now.

Fantastic demo. Instant wishlist.

Small bit of feedback tho, scrolling up/down in the settings on touchpad moves the sliders, small bug. With all these nice settings a "restore default settings" button might be useful.

Oh, thank you so much for the feedback. If anything else is wacky with the touchpad, definitely let me know. I'll look into patching that up.

I'm also working on general keyboard/gamepad support for menu navigation.

Good call on resetting stuff to default. I'll look into it.

Fully supporting the controller would be fantastic. Currently, I can do almost everything with the controller (although some ergonomic details need improvement later) except for the skill menu; I can't see the upgrade information. A system like in Final Fantasy VII Remake, for assigning Materia, would be great. For example, pressing 'triangle: PS' or 'Y: Xbox' or 'X: Switch' (the physical button location is the same on three different controllers) would allow me to enter reading mode, and then use the home button to cancel/back to return to upgrade mode.
